ABUS Kransysteme was founded in 1965 by Werner Bühne and is still a family-run company based in Gummersbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Today, the manufacturer of overhead travelling cranes and hoists employs more than 1,300 people and produces around 6,000 crane systems and 14,000 hoist systems per year, made in Germany, with load capacities from 80 kg to 120 t.
